The Cable Fault Burning Unit is a valuable tool for technicians working with electrical cables.
How does it work?
It tackles high-resistance faults in both high and low-voltage cables by applying a powerful surge of energy. This surge targets faults at cable joints and terminations. The unit creates a brief arc at the fault location, which generates a transient wave that travels along the cable. By using Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR), the Cable Fault Burning Unit can then precisely pinpoint the exact location of the fault on the cable.
