Description
Description
Phase Shifting Transformer is used to get desired phase difference between primary and secondary. A three phase transformer allows shift of +/-30, 180 deg. So a phase shifting transformer allows a smoother variation on phase angle. By changing the phase angle between source and load, a phase shifter can control the load flow between parallel lines and network segments, effectively preventing overloads. It stabilizes power flow over long transmission distances between power generation centers and load centers.
